Information
Since over 30 years, WEHRLE Umwelt is specialised on the treatment of landfill leachate and industrial effluents, e.g. for Food & Beverage, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Petrochemical, Iron & Steel, Pulp & Paper, Laundries, digestate & pig manure etc. Beyond the treatment of wastewaters to achieve discharge limits, WEHRLE plans and builds plants for water recycling / water re-use, biogas generation, substance recovery and more. WEHRLE consults, engineers, and builds plants and offers related services such as pilot testing, efficiency optimisation and upgrades of existing plants. A wide range or process technologies is available for this: high-performance membrane bioreactors BIOMEMBRAT (MBR), Airlift-MBRs, SBRs, anaerobic bioreactors BIODIGAT (EGSB, anaerobic filter, activated sludge), highly efficient Jet Loop bioreactors (BIOSTREAM), nanofiltration (NF), reverse osmosis (RO), as well as pre-treatment equipment like flotationen (DAF etc.) and decanter centrifuges. Depending on the task and customer priorities the best suited technologies are selected and / or combined and controlled centrally. Besides the treatment of wastewaters, the company possesses process technologies for the biological treatment of organic and mixed municipal solid waste (MSW) for maximum gain of value and energy from waste (MYT = Maximum Yield Technology). WEHRLE plants are know for simple operation and efficiency-optimised, resource-saving operation.
Services
Leachate Treatment Plants
Engineering, construction and operation of turn-key plants for the treatment of landfill leachates, waste bunker leachate, MBT plant effluents, digestates, manure, centrates etc. Depending on the discharge limits to be reached, the best suited technologies are being selected and / or combined: effective retention of pollutants by direct Reverse Osmosis or elimination of COD and NH4-N by high-performance membrane bioreactors (BIOMEMBRAT). This process can also be combined with active carbon or nanofiltration or indirect Reverse Osmosis. The over 200 references in these applications worldwide have proven the outstanding longevity and low operation costs WEHRLE plants typically stand for.
Industrial Effluent Treatment Plants
Also for industrial effluents WEHRLE offers a wide spectrum of technologies. But, the industrial client requires more than just technology: a reliable and high performance of the treatment system across changes of flow and load (e.g. by seasonal production or change of production lines) and throughout all climatic conditions. A modular design of the plant to make an upgrade simple and not costly, if, for instance, production capacity increases. Easy operation of the plant to allow outsourcing of the operation to a service company. The stable and high discharge quality of industrial high-performance MBRs enables the client to upgrade the system for water recycling / re-use to save fresh water, heat energy and water softening chemicals.
Sewage incineration, decentralized
Sewage sludge mono-incineration plants are becoming increasingly popular for the disposal of sewage sludge and for future phosphorus recovery. Plants up to a certain size (for approx. 650,000 PE) can be realized quickly due to the simplified approval procedures. The standardization of this plant size reduces the investment costs and optimizes reliability and thus the operating expenses. WEHRLE K³sludge technology is based on a fluidized bed core unit with site-specific peripherals (sewage sludge drying, etc.). K³sludge is very compact and energy self-sufficient, no technical wastewater is generated. This allows flexible site selection, from greenfield sites to integration into an existing industrial site.
